SEAFUTURE supports Startup innovation: the 2025 call for applications is now open

Seafuture, one of Italy’s leading Blue Economy business exhibitions, will take place from September 29 to October 2, 2025, at the La Spezia Naval Base. Following the success of its initiatives for young talents, such as the Seafuture Awards, the event is now focusing on innovative startups.

The call for applications, promoted by IBG – Italian Blue Growth in collaboration with Distretto Ligure delle Tecnologie Marine, closes on March 31, 2025, at 5:00 PM. It will select the innovative startups, with two granted free participation at Seafuture 2025, while the others can attend at a reduced fee of €1,000.

The startups must operate in one of the following areas: marine and maritime technologies, automation, defense, cyber & security, underwater technologies, logistics, environmental sustainability, data analysis and monitoring, predictive maintenance, communication and connectivity, and artificial intelligence.

Applications must be submitted online here.

Selected innovative startups will benefit from a dedicated exhibition space, pitching opportunities, and networking sessions with industry leaders. They will also gain visibility throughout the event. A new feature this year is access to B2B meetings through a dedicated platform.

The talent of young people for the development of the Blue economy.

Valuing young people and their talents for the innovation and development of the Blue Economy this is the mission of the ‘Seafuture Awards’, dedicated to university students and doctoral candidates. The awards are organized by the Ligurian District of Marine Technologies in collaboration with Italian Blue Growth.

Now in its fifth edition, the Seafuture Awards, are promoted in conjunction with the ninth edition of Seafuture, Italy’s leading Blue Economy fair, which will take place from 29 September to 2 October at the Naval Base of La Spezia.  All the calls, including the admission criteria and respective deadlines, can be found here: www.seafuture.it/awards

The winners, in addition to being guests at the fair, will receive the awards  during a public ceremony to be held in La Spezia on a date to be defined.
