AN IMPORTANT OPPORTUNITY FOR COMPANIES FOCUSING ON INNOVATION AND THE BLUE ECONOMY

Due to the numerous expressions of interest received, the deadline for the ‘Seafuture’ start-up call – “Seafuture Awards Start-up Area” – has been extended to 31 May 2025, at 5 p.m., allowing more time for companies focusing on innovation related to the blue economy to finalise their projects.

‘Seafuture,’ one of the leading Blue Economy fairs in Italy, will take place from 29 September to 2 October 2025, at the La Spezia Naval Base. It provides a world-class showcase for start-ups. Its format has consistently generated successful connections and synergies among national and international key players, SMEs, academics, researchers, innovative start-ups, marine and maritime technology clusters, and fosters strategic relationships and exchanges that strengthen and enhance the competitiveness of the Country System.

The call, launched by IBG – Italian Blue Growth, in collaboration with Ligurian Marine Technology District Scrl, will select the most deserving start-ups: the first two will be able to participate in Seafuture 2025 free of charge, while the remaining eight will have the opportunity to attend the fair for a subsidised cost of 1,000 euros each.

Start-ups wishing to apply must be active in the following areas of expertise: marine and maritime technologies/automation, defence, cyber & security, underwater, logistics, environmental sustainability, data analysis and monitoring, predictive maintenance, communication and connectivity, and artificial intelligence. Companies can apply only by completing the online application form available on the website www.seafuture.it.

Selected start-ups will receive specific services, including a dedicated and set-up exhibition space, pitching sessions, and networking opportunities to present their businesses to an audience of entrepreneurs and business decision-makers. Additionally, there will be various visibility opportunities during the event. A new feature this year is the possibility for selected companies to participate in B2B meetings via a dedicated platform.
